If we'd signed all thier forards in the summer, Nick would have said: <all together now>: I was thinking the same thing. JP might have spent his entire beans like some of our fans wanted him to. Might not have made us any better. Blackpool are higher up the table because they are simply better organised than we.

Disagree about them being 'better organised'
In fact I think they are on the crest of a wave and are playing well at times whilst being extrememly lucky.
They also haven't been hit by as many injuries as the Brommage!

Inuries aside, we've still been poor. We should be better organised considering the money, players, experience and set up we have compared to Blackpool.

Another 5-8 clubs could be saying that at the moment in the Prem?...

In fact I think they are on the crest of a wave and are playing well at times whilst being extrememly lucky. This is what most thought after the first few weeks, the fact we are after xmas and there still going, it seems a little more than luck, they have also lost the last 3 before today so it shows they are bit more resillient than thought. It doesnt look like they are going to crumble

Liverpool are utter shite, mind. I thought that when we palyed them, a missed opportunity. Blackpool 6 points ahead of us and have they done the double on Liverpool? Would we swa squads? They may do the double on us shortly. My only hope is RDM has the guts to do what Mowbray did not and Carson does not start.

Sorry mate but the specatcles are well and truly on if you can't see that they are - at least defensively - much less of a shambles than we are. Yes we've been unfortunate with injuries - but that's no excuse. Suspensions have hit us hard too - there is temperament involved of course but again it all comes back to organistaion. We may well have outplayed them at their place, however I still think it's a bit of an insult to brand them 'lucky'. Take a look at their goal difference column compared to ours and post the above again.

You are right and it is because perhaps we did not give them enough credit when they came up. They were very much the team in form at the end of the Championship season and their first XI were not that far off ours in ability, losing by the odd goal twice, which in both cases was a penalty (correctly so).
We both made signings coming up, but whether we would have wanted any of theirs or not (e.g. Harewood) perhaps their signings have made more of a telling difference to the dynamic of their first XI and therefore they are more on a par with us now (or even better?). Our letting in 39 goals is the main issue and in my opinion not changing the keeper soon enough is a big factor there.
BUT. We were in better form this season going to Bloomfield Road than Blackpool and they had not won at home. The penalty would not have been given in my opinion against a Neville or a Terry and was soft. Even allowing that a penalty could be given, the red card decision was a disgrace and cost us. It was the good luck Blackpool needed to change their form and the bad luck we didn't want that changed ours.
Even allowing that all results since would have been the same had we won that game, which I doubt, a reverse result would mean we were 3 points behind them now and not 6. I do believe we would have won the game but for that referees blunder as even with men down we were showing the form of previous games and playing much better than Blackpool. That one decision sadly could have made a huge difference to our season.
You have to get over these things though and we have been for the most part, with a few exceptions, poor since then, and that is not down to that referee. I hope we can win and turn it around and get some good luck on Saturday because I fear like many the impact of Blackpool doing the double over us could be relegation again. And if Carew is the only new face we are likely to get in January, then that will make little difference I'm afraid.

But this whole 'the game that turned our season to shit' theory just doesn't wash with me. The poor little lambs are grown men FFS, and it was just one game. Yes we deserved more out of Bloomfield Road - without doubt. But we've been here before at this level, and it'll happen again between now and May. Albion get done by refs in the Prem? Not exactly an exclusive. In any case, the fact remains that they have got stronger as a unit, and we have got weaker. Perhaps the result in question was a catalyst - but their results since have been down to more than just luck and one result against the BROM. I really hope it's payback time on Saturday.

I think on our day when we play well we are far superior, but to underestimate them would be foolish. there are worse teams than both of us in this division, wulfs and wigwam to name 2 but hopefully these recent results will be enough of a kick up the arse to save our season.

Blackpool's success is all about pyschology. On paper they're no better than us but are under absolutely no pressure to win. Their manager is the only manager in the Prem who's under no pressure and they can play without fear. They also, like Hull were when they first got promoted, will have been underestimated by many established Prem sides.
