The new new has already started getting spam. The reason it all started going tits up last time. Birdmon has had money off people as well this time. Minimal amounts though, I think.

I have quite enough bollocks, stress and hassle in the foregoing 16 or 17 hours. There's too much choice in the world already, FFS! Luckily this bottle was already open.

I'm lurking on both. Hedging my bets before the final decision is made.
I prefer this layout, even though the new one isn't that different, this just seems to flow better for me...

Only thing this place was missing was an Ignore button. Doesn't seem to need it now - a simpler solution has been found.

Move was for the same reason as before, because pro-boards are very, very strict about what is posted, and far too often Sid get's warning messages else have the forum shut down.
Hence a new board was made on a server owned by myself (So no rules except board rules and local laws.) The last one I did died because a standard hosting service couldn't take the load, even after finally killing off the bots, there was simply too much being posted there and too many people viewing at times for shared hosting to accomadate.
So I ahd to purchase a server, hence I've asked for donations towards the upkeep, not at all compulsary and I don't even record who has or hasn't paid, but it costs a few hundred pounds a year to run so I needed some help with it.
For those of you who choose to stay here, good luck and good times to you, if you decide to join us on the other board, and there is something you don't like, let me know, I can customise just about all of it, just need enough people to want it to be worth doing it.
Thems the facts.

What's the deal with a moderator on here, Birdmon? Who would they contact about grievances if you aren't on here anymore? I hope my money comment didn't rub you up the wrong way. I was just feeling for you if you'd had money off people and the server was getting all jammed up with spam bollocks again. People might have started to get pissy.

So is the new forum a ruse, just to give em the eyes so to speak.
If so it's not worked.

I just prefer this one. I can read it and use it easier. If the kids that need to post the stuff that gets us warned want to do it on the other one that's fair enough. As Dino says we've found a simpler solution than the ignore function.

Having the other site isnt about wanting to post offensive stuff. That will still be deleted. The reason for moving was about having control of our own site. Birdmon has put huge effort into creating the new home for us. A home that will be developed and inproved as we go to suit as many people as possible.
Its a shame that a small number have stayed here. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me. This place is now unmoderated as well. It won't be long before something happens and proboards pull the plug.

The only real problem before was that the kids and overgrown kids posted waggle.
Or am I wrong, lid?

It is precisely the lack of kids which makes this plaice nice to kip in. A quick browse of topics over there clearly show the degeneration of human society due to YOOF. And that young Quelch is one of the worst.

Hudds, unofficial has always been a home for waggling and waffle. It is what set us apart from other sites.
The new site will be exactly the same as this was in terms of moderation on the main part of the board. The waggling part of the board will not be a free for all though. It will be moderated to make it fine to look at during work hours.
My guess is that the reason some won't move is because they don't like a couple of personalities and will remain here even if there are less members than fansonline. Fair enough. Thankfully the vast majority are posting on new site and I am glad for birdy that they are. My aim is to push the site on and build the audience any way I can.

I only post on my MCW phone. The txt is too small and I'm constantly logging out because of my fat fingers. I forever refreshing the page because it hasn't loaded properly. You are about a week in and the spambots are not only starting threads but posting on existing ones. It's just easier for me here. If they pull it. They pull it. I can't see the remaining people here fighting with each other or posting filth tbh. How does the site continue unmoderated?

Can the moderating responsibility be passed on to someone who's staying?

The best part of This Dump was the irreverance. I was always anti-waggle, though, and BAWS got that right but hey ho, that's one view. I prefer this site's format and accessibility. Good on Birdy but I don't like that site's format. Nothing to do with who else uses it (or not). I'm using both but this is better user-wise. Onions, ay it?
