at the risk of being harsh, anyone else thinking it was obviously the boyfriend?

His brother has gotta make a big decision if it's him giving the boyfriend a false alibi. Horrible story regardless of whether it's the boyfriend or not.

My mrs said exactly this the other day. Not sure what she based it on but there have been a few of these recently when someone making the appeal was guilty.

I think it's a very sad state of affair where people think nothing of assuming stuff like that.

Standard practice from the police to throw suspects in front of the cameras for appeals
Must be horrible for the innocent family members as I'm sure they are aware that they are suspected.

I understand there will be no PM result today due to continued frozen condition of body.

I understand there will be no PM result today due to continued frozen condition of body. Nothing announced, but they obviously have a fair idea of when she died, as they are asking for witnesses around the Clifton Suspension Bridge on Friday/Saturday.

Agatha Christie once said "in any murder story, work out who it is least likely to have been. That's who did it". It was Miss Marple obviously.

Apparently the boyfriend arrived at her house to find she has disappeared.
Come on, this is 2010, most other couples would be in communication via the text giving regular updates as to how long they may be before they may arrive back.

Blimey, just imagine. Should he turn out to be 'innocent', this bloke must feel like a scarfer fingered by the pigs as a hooligan. EDLmlea's mates would be FUMING!

They will know very quickly whether or not to rule him out. If he where he says he was, obviously the paper trail will confirm this.
If not, they're probably letting him shit himself for a bit.

It seems he did send texts & called & got concerned when she didn't reply, then it's reported her coat, keys & mobile were found in their apartment... erm why didn't he hear the message beep or ringing tone?

My Mrs reckons it was one of the builders - if you look at the TV coverage there is scaffolding on the building next door. Apparently there was a geezer who was done for a similar crime in the 1990s (builder working on a site near the house in question) and a friend of my Mrs saw him on Gloucester Road on Xmas eve... Coincidence? Her line is that the police must already be aware of him so she shouldn't bother them with her hunch... I'm not so sure, I think she should call them...

This assumes the police are clever. I'd call.

Nothing like a murder to get the board going.
I could well have passed her on that Friday night on her way from Tesco to her flat. Truely horrible.
I reckon It'sAGoals Mrs should phone the police on this apparent 1990's murder builder out on Gloucester Road on Christmas eve. It sounds nailed on it's him. Or the boyfriend. Or the brother. Or the boyfriends brother.
