Yday was an utter shambles - we are playing football that is pleasing on the eye but the last few weeks it has been powder puff.
However - i have complete confidence that Robbie will recognise this and go back to a slightly duller style of play - dog it out.
Its quite frustrating how we are now playing the Mowbray way and disregarding the importance of set pieces both offensive and defensive. The killer instinct has gone.
I expect us to revert back to 2 DMs. We were wide open yday and got undone by not digging in defensively and playing too many tippy tappy passes.

Agree. We have forgotten the basics. All the things that are wrong (with the exception of not scoring enough) are basic common sense. Witness-2 goals at Bolton from terrible marking, jara too far out of position for 1st yesterday resulting in carson literally not knowing if he's coming or going. then 2 headed goals from inside the 6 yard box. The 3rd goal was embarrasingly only chest high when Diouf stooped to put his head where one of our boots should've been. Our keeper and defence have to make the 6 yd box a place of fear for opponents. You can almost GBH 'em without fear of being penalised. Tighten up FFS!

Further to above. Interesting to read RDM's comments about sloppy defending (Evening Mail/ICBirmingham). Nice to know he is aware of the problem and not ignoring it (A la Mowbray). I agree on the 2 defensive midfielders but with our suspension situation, it may be hard to accomodate.

Just a little note on the ground tour. There were notecards selotaped to a blackboard in the dressing room.
One of them simply said:
WE DON'T TACKLE IN OUR OWN BOX

I don't believe he is ignoring it. The clue is in the RDM quote. I believe he is looking for an improvement from the players we've got or looking to bring in someone who WILL defend. Beneath that loveable Bhudda like serenity lies ambition.
