We generally defended well except when giving goals away cheaply. There wasn't much of a novelty factor there. He did fine.
His announcement got a huge cheer, though not so huge as Bednar's obviously.

How did we play with him in the sticks? In a game with so many chances he really didn't have too much to do! He looked ok. For the first goal, I klnow it was a cracker but am I alone in thinking that I've seen those tipped over, he seemed to 'climb' a little early. He kicks it a long way up into the stratosphere.

If I was to be critical over the first goal I would attribute the blame as follows:
In bronze position- Odemwingie for standing watching as the defender ran forward to receive the short corner and play the cross.
In silver: the players who didn't bother trying to close down Adam as he took the ball down onto his good foot, lined up a shot and hit it.
And in the gold medal position- Scott Carson who had a perfect view of both things and failed as club captain to make the players do their job. We'll never get anywhere until we get a sub keeper who can command his technical area.

I realised that after I posted. To be honest though, I kept getting the caggy tossers confused throughout the game.

Cech has to hold his hand up for their second. Too right there that Phillips fella turned him inside and out with that flick I like to praise the attacker tho in those circumstances

Was about to defend Cech there myself. The kid they brought on was lightning, & could put a good ball across.
It's only natural that a winger is going to get past his man at times. It is then up to the other defenders to cover, not go to sleep.

He is lightning I was worried when he came on tbh specially when he had been left exposed a few times Specially when he had to mark 3 men on his own They had two wide players and we only had the one

Myhill was fine today. Didn't actually have many saves to make. No chance with either goal. If you wanted to be ultra critical, I thought he could have got out a bit quicker and got the ball before DJ in the chance they had just before Mozza's goal. He should certainly keep his place for Blackburn.

Myhill had a decent game, he made a decent scrambling save 2nd half when they looked sure to equalise. Off his line fairly quickly to through balls - big improvement.
Blackpool didnt throw many high crosses into the 6 yard box -prob cos Carson was not playing.
Myhill does not look too comfortable in his distribution though - sensed some nerves with the ball at this feet.

He stood firm, and certainly wasn't doing "The Carson Waltz" of 2 steps forward and 1 back.

more balls back to the keeper in the last 90 minutes than in the last 90 matches.
the difference it makes for a (crap) defence who have a good keeper behind them.
scott 'rooted to the line' carson is fuming that myhill was in the sweeper position for most of the match

Total nonsense. you should just accept that the vast majority of fans would rather have a fuggin guide dog in goal than Scott Carson. You might make some valid points about him, but the vast majority of the crowd today welcomed Myhill with open arms. We can't all be wrong.

Whether Carson's name was booed or not is irrelevant.

I don't recollect that we did. They seemed a lot less jittery with Boaz in there - as did the crowd which invariably is transferred onto the pitch.

For the record I have backed carson up until the first half of the fulham shambles, but that match even before the goal - it was clear that he needed to be put out of his misery and will probably come back stronger.
myhill deserves a few games at a crucial part of the season.
