My Grandad's fave player. Too small to play for England at the time.

died 11 years ago today. Legend. Loved scoring against the Dogheads too. RIP. he loved scoring against the villa more. he said that he never heard the albion fans roar louder than after his late equaliser that relegated the claret and blue filth in '59. but i suppose thats a whole new can of worms. ;D RIP Ronnie.

Paid the transfer fee for Cyrille out of his own pocket. He's said he would if the Albion board wouldn't and then would reap the benefits when Regis was sold for a million.Eventually he didn't. Ronnie also managed the wolves in the mid sixties, got them promoted and signed one of their most iconic players Derek Dougan. Ronnie also holds the record for the oldest player ever to play for the Baggies in an official game albeit a pre season friendly at Cheltenham under Buckley. He came on as a sub aged 66,Arthur Mann also came on aged 48.

Watched him many many times. Would have to be in the top 5 players to ever pull on a Blue and White striped shirt. RIP Ronnie Allen, and thanks for all the memories.

One of my old man's favourite players. Also said that's the loudest he's ever heard the shrine when Allen scored to send Villa down
