can't help but wonder if this outpouring of Proud to be Britishness has somehow put the mockers on dodgy Del Boy Alex Salmond's ambitions to take his country into political and economic oblivion.
Even Andy Murray is popular south of the border now and you have to say that Chris Hoy is a sound bloke.
Del boy Salmond will come back with some facts along the line of they have the highest ratio of medals per head of population in the world and therefore vote for independence and we will overtake China by the end of the century.
Apparently if Yorkshire was a country it would be around 10th in the medals table.
Quite remarkable.

There's one school in Somerset that's above Spain and Canada in the medals table.
It will be interesting to see what happens Scottish sport if they did get independence, when they no longer have access to the the funding, coaches and facilities.

It's unbelievably short-sighted bollox. Independence based on a finite amount of revenue through oil and gas. It's still a one-man ego trip and hope the Jocks see it for what it is.

To hear him go on, you would think that Scotland was some world power before the union rather than some clan riven backwater. All the inventions and contributions to economics and industry from north of the boarder, and there have been many, has come about because of the stability and money gained from union.
