Very comfortable win in the end, with some good performances from the youngsters. Ratings: Boaz Myhill - Made some good saves and saved the penalty. Couldn't fault him. Didn't have a lot to do though. = 8 James Hurst - Shakey first half but looked better second half. = 6 Tamas - Made a couple of good clearances but a few poor passes out of defence. = 6 Dawson - Did well IMO, and scored a good goal. Looks a threat in the air. Solid performance. = 7 Billy Jones - Did well until he came off. Made some threatening runs and put in a good shift. = 7 Yacob - Had a quiet game but showed promise. Nothing spectacular but looks OK. = 6 Thorne - First 20 mins MOTM but faded after that. = 6 El Ghanassy - Went missing at times but when he got on the ball he was our most threatening player. Made a great run for Berahino's goal. = 7 Cox - Wouldn't be suprised if there was a scout there tonight. Hardest working player in the side whilst he was on. Didn't do anything special though. = 6 Fortune - Didn't have a great game, a few bad touches let him down. Looked strong however I doubt he will start next saturday = 6 Wood - Pretty ineffective, forgot he was on the pitch after half an hour. Not good enough IMO = 5
Berahino MOTM for me, the game livened up when he came on. One to keep an eye on, looks a very promising talent. = 9

His time at Brentford last season encapsulated the best and worst of him. I reckon he's a good chance of making the bench vs Liverpoo.

Great summary, Dan.
Agreed about Wood - he is a physically big presence, but he managed to disappear completely. Maybe Derren Brown was filming a new illusion at the Bescot last night and Chris was part of the programme.
The gymnastics showman in the Walsall end was my MOTM by some distance.

I thought Hurst had a shocker, as did Cox who was trying too hard. Looked genuinely gutted when taken off. I expected more from Thorne and agree he faded badly.
Dawson was the best player on the pitch for me. Yakob looks like he will be a player when fit, although some of his passing was a little sloppy a la Mulumbu.
Looks like Clarke will play with two holding, as the full backs pushed very high up the pitch. We also pressed very high, especially second half.

I saw the gymnast total loony,, the stewards totally ignored him classic, Wood looked poor first touch was poor and get getting offside, thought Thorne did ok. Thought Dawson did very well. Cox was disapointing needs a move i think.

Fair assessment.
I think Cox and Wood AGAIN proved they are not good enough to be anywhere near our club. And they were never going to be good enough. I'd have shipped the trash out years ago. Ditto Fortune.
Yacob looked poor in my opinion. We'll be needing a lot more than that from him.

His name is Keith Last seasons opener against Orient he went and did the same thing and when he came back he found out some lads had kicked his seat He looked like a breakdancer when before he found another seat
