Today was my grandads funeral. He was a very respected man, a gentleman, and a hero to many.
He was a Walsall fan from a young age, but took my dad to teh Albion at 6, my dad got hooked and took me at 3. I'm 23, and have been an albion fan ever since my dad dragged me up the shrine.
I know this seems like random drivel, but it seemed fitting that the 2 clubs that we had shared many conversations about in the past played on the night of his send off.
Yes, I have had maybe one too many whiskeys in his honour, but i thought this was relevant on a footballing forum...
R.I.P Grandad Jim

Like anyone need make excuses for what they think is random drivel on here. Nice post mate. My condolences but it's great that you can tell us all about it. Have another scotch in his honour. I don't drink myself on a Tuesday but I'll make an exception now. Chink.

It is great that you can recognise his contribution to your life mate. I miss mine and one of my enduring regrets is that I was too young and selfish to realise my Grandad was not immortal. RIP Jim

Thanks for the nice replys. Woke up this morning with a slightly sore head after a decent amount of my grandads single malt and a couple of pints pre match in the saddlers club.
