Was there ever a regular show jumping programme on tv? Around the time of Harvey Smith and David Broome.

I always remember them using it to fill up a quiet Grandstand Saturday with live action between the hoss racing when there was no Challenge Cup RL, snooker or 5 Nations RU on...

I think they used to show the Horse of the Year show, but had to cancel after Princess Anne won it every year...

Horse of the Year show is still going, was on Sky3DShite last year.

Horse Of The Year Show was a regular feature on BBC1 just before Christmas. They also had blanket coverage (horse blanket coverage, if you will) of the Badminton 3 day eventing thing. As well as regular coverage of various World and European Championships.

Show Jumping use to be on tv all the time in the 70s.
As mentioned above David Broome and Harvey Smith were big stars.
