American obviously CONJOINED twins Abby and Brittany Hensel have landed their own reality show. They have previously starred in a documentary called Joined For Life, and a follow-up programme, Abby and Brittany Turn 16. Stars-in-the-making Abby and Brittany first found fame when they appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, and graced the cover of Life Magazine in 1996, aged six. The girls, 22, from Minnesota, have now landed a brand new series, which will show them graduating from university, hunting for a job and travelling through Europe with pals. Abby and Brittany share most organs below the navel and they have two hearts with one shared circulatory system, four lungs and two stomachs. While they were born with three arms, one was removed surgically. Abby controls the right side of the body while Brittany controls the left. And while it's rare for twins conjoined the way that Abby and Brittany are to survive into adulthood, they are in good health, without heart defects or organ failure. Abby and Brittany will air on TLC in August

The late, great Tony Capstick used to tell a wonderful story about how he picked up a girl on the bus and it was only after he'd made a date with her that he found out she was a conjoined twin. The hilarious tale continues as he takes her out and finally beds her whlst her sister carries on with her normal activities like knitting, waching tv and practising trombone. The punchline comes when he meets her several months later in the High Street. She approaches him with the greeting....."I bet you don't remember me do you?"
