Pretty good performance tonight, we kept the ball well and defence looks solid if not a little troubled by pace.
Clarke seems to be playing a fluid 433 with Morrison in a free role in the centre of the middle 3 allowing a shift to 4411 when we're defending with the "inside forwards" of Wingie and Gera to drop back into the wide slots. Seems pretty effective but lack if pace shows when breaking.
- Yacob looks a very tidy player, positioning is good, good range of passing and gets stuck in, could have a gem on our hands. - Mulumbu has been given freedom to get forward like under RDM and seems to be revelling in it, think we'll see another big season from him, took his goal well - Gera is wasted as a wide left striker, but Morrison's energy means he just about edges Gera for that role. Would prefer to see JT in the wide role. - Not convinced by Long as a line striker, he doesn't seem to have the postitional discipline meaning there's rarely anyone in the box when we get the ball in wide areas as he's the one whose won it!
Defence wasn't really tested as Forest were poor, and Foster did what he had to do with no fuss.
No appearance for Rosenberg though but Lukaku was with the rest of the squad and he looks a unit!!!
Optimistic about our chances, but few tweaks needed I think... Roll on the season!

nice one pal.
Breaking at pace was something we were reasonably good at 2 years ago under RDM - one of the few negatives from last season.
Not short of options across the front 6 though are we.....

Even if we play 2-2-6.

Agree the report. Wingie on the wing looked a bit lost on the right, both physically and mentally? Like the calm play of Yacob taking over from Mulumbu in the middle, allowing Mulumbu to get further forward and work with Mozza.

Oh, and... El Ghanassy, he's a winger, our Belgian Star.. I'm not going to type the rest of the song, and my understanding of the accents sometimes fails me, but I like it
