The miserable cnut should fuck off, his novelty wore off years ago.

It was less than a fortnight ago that he was whining about The Smiths not being included in the opening ceremony.
Silly old sod.

Dudleylad posted about this on the "What is there to be proud of..." thread.
The Nazi bit aside, he's also said "The 'dazzling royals' have, quite naturally, hijacked the Olympics for their own empirical needs, and no oppositional voice is allowed in the free press. It is lethal to witness. London is suddenly promoted as a super-wealth brand, the England outside London shivers beneath cutbacks, tight circumstances and economic disasters."
He does have a point, doesn't he. He's dared to voice his opinion and everyone's up for hanging him. Chris Morriss would be chuffed with such a reaction. The Olympics does seem to be having an anaesthetising effect on everyone, media and all.
Don't get me wrong, I'm loving the Olympics and I think it is restoring some confidence in the country but I'm thinking there may be one hell of a hangover once the party's over.

It's amazing how a few compatriots running and jumping well make us forget what a kicking the whole country is having at the moment. But I'll enjoy it for the next week before returning to the familiar po-faced socialist that bores the shit out of everyone.

I've got a little bit hooked on these Olympics...it os so easy to be sucked into the tide of jingoism.
He does have a point, though.
Good for him for having the balls to voice his opinion.

I would go gig tonight But I haven't got a decent song to sing.
The only people in Britain that need to wakeup are the 50+ year olds trying to hold onto what's left of their youth and attending his shite concerts.

Morrissey just likes to fire one into the mixer now and then to ruffle a few feathers.
'the 2013 grotesque inevitability of Lord and Lady Beckham is, believe me, a fate worse than life.'
This made me loff.

Morrissey is one of the greatest post-war talents that our country has produced. I think there will be a lot of people below 50 having a rude awakening once the euphoria has worn off.

You can always tell when an artist/band is on the decline by the increase in proportion of slapheads in the audience over time. FACT

Not so great and talented then???

Not so great and talented then??? Chart placings don't necessarily align with talent and greatness. I haven't got the facts to hand but didn't 'what difference' make the top 10 - not that it matters.

I know, but it's a decent benchmark. What it does indicate is that the smiths werent commercial and didn't appeal to the masses. Indicating alot of the record buying public did not share the same opinion as Sol Throstle as to his talent and greatness.

You'd think that Armageddon was due to kick off immediately after the closing ceremony FFS.

I'm a fan of the smiths and morrissey but his comments are ridiculous.
Yes there's a fervour in the country but no-one's been hurt or intimidated as a result as far as I know?
To compare it to the nazis is inappropriate to say the least.
